Rui Zhou

I'm a Ph.D. student in Human-Centered Computing. My research areas include HCI, qualitative methodology, Science Technology and Society (STS), design theory, critical theory, and a few more. I see myself as an interdisciplinary scholar.

My research focuses on how people communicate through social media/instant messengers, how they appropriate these technologies, and how such technologies affect these people. Specifically, I study the way Chinese people use WeChat. I plan to continue studying WeChat and the relation between WeChat and its users in the future.
